Night sky painting

The Rosette Nebula’s appearance in optical light resembles a rose flower and the nebula was named after the flower design. It is an emission nebula, a large star forming region located in the constellation Monoceros, the Unicorn. The Rosette is lit by the young stars located within the nebulous region.
